"Efficiency is doing better what is already being done..."
In January 2002, I found out that my best friend, let me call him Michael, was admitted to a well-known substance abuse facility in Southern California to deal with his alcohol abuse problem. Although I have known Michael for over 15 years and we have attended many social events together with our families, I never knew he had a serious substance abuse issue. When I first saw him in the facility, I tried to avoid discussing the topic, as it just terrified me. I wanted to say so much, but was totally unprepared and unable to deal with someone so close being ill.
I regularly visited Michael at the substance abuse facility during his stay there and had frequent conversations with facility employees. It is from those conversations that I learned of the daily frustrations and the enormous burden of paperwork placed on facility staff. These kind and compassionate folks were spending a large amount of time completing their mandatory paperwork. However they felt that this time would be better spent caring for their clients, like my friend Michael. There had to be a better way!
Being a co-founder of Eccentex Corporation - a software company focusing on improving efficiency - I approached facility's head administrator with an idea of helping to develop a new and more efficient way of handling daily tasks and managing facility operations. It was at that that meeting that the idea of MyCaseRecords was first born.
For the next two years, through extensive collaboration with facility staff and a team of behavioral science professionals - MyCaseRecords came to be what it is today. MyCaseRecords is a system that allows professionals to concentrate on their clients and the job they love, rather than on enormous amount of paperwork and data verification associated with running today's successful facility.

I wish that I could be more helpful for Michael from the very beginning. Now I have faith that in some way, MyCaseRecords will help others struggling with behavioral health issues - by allowing their caregivers spend more time on client care rather than on paperwork.
